visual communication for complex decisions

Branding
I create distinctive branding for projects, agencies, and businesses that reflect their values and mission while being instantly recognizable to your audience.
For startups or businesses seeking a refresh
I help develop a cohesive visual identity — a brand touchstone that resonates with your target audience and elevates all materials, from websites to marketing collateral.
For planning projects and public initiatives
Many planning projects benefit from their own unique brand identity. A strong, purpose-driven brand can differentiate your project, create a memorable presence, and help the public rally behind your vision.

Flood Safe Columbia River
Context: Public Initiative
Designed a distinctive brand identity for the Flood Safe Columbia River project, helping constituents easily recognize outreach materials related to the bond levy and building support for its successful passage.

Johnson McCall
Context: Business Startup
Created a distinctive logo for Johnson McCall, a growing law firm focused on abuse and neglect casework, reflecting their values and helping establish a credible, recognizable identity.

Ala Pono
Context: Planning Project
Developed a unique brand identity for the Ala Pono planning project in Honolulu, helping engage stakeholders and the public around a proposed bicycle and pedestrian crossing.

delivery
Phase 4:
I will take your feedback, apply it to the design and develop a fully formatted draft. This draft will be delivered for you to review and we will iterate until it is final (usually 1-2 revision cycles).
01
project kickoff
Phase One:
We will discuss your goals, constraints, and project schedule, as well as explore your existing materials and brand. Then, I propose a clear scope of work and fee based on the materials required and the time needed to do the work well.
02
DRaft development
Phase 2:
Using our scope as a guide, I will develop and format a draft product(s), or a few concepts depending on context. Content will be edited for clarity and visual elements will be developed to complement it. This draft will demonstrate the look and feel of the future product(s).
03
full design and review
Phase 3:
You will review the draft demo and provide feedback for me to incorporate. Up to three revisions are included in the base scope, with opportunities for further revisions billed at my hourly rate.
my process
My work is highly context-dependent. Scope and pricing are based on the complexity of the material, the audience, and the level of collaboration required.
Most projects follow a four-step process:
-
Project Kickoff
-
Draft Development
-
Full Design and Review
-
Product Delivery
